A hearty and classic Italian dish made with layers of pasta, rich meat sauce, creamy béchamel, and plenty of melted cheese. Perfect for family dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz (680 g) tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Steps
- Cook lasagna noodles until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef with onions and garlic; add tomato sauce and herbs.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the baking dish, then layer noodles, béchamel, meat sauce, and cheese. Repeat until full, ending with cheese on top.
- Bake for 40â45 minutes until golden and bubbling.
